Weekend Road Trip: Part 2

On the drive home we purposefully made a detour to see Bear Lake. It was somewhere I'd heard about quite a bit from coworkers, especially as a good summer destination. The lake is amazingly blue and spans the Utah/Idaho border. Located high in the mountains above Logan, the water is quite cold and water sports in the lake are reserved for the peak of summer. We had a low-key picnic lunch on the beach and let the kids play. Most of us walked into the lake just a bit. Everett, of course, was wet from the waist down. Which is what happens when you play and sit in all the puddles and sand. Brr!

After lunch, we hopped in the car with the hope of getting a raspberry shake – a specialty of the area. Sadly, they are plentiful on all days except Sunday, when nearly everything in town is closed. Years of living in Utah have yet to fully teach us this lesson. So, we went home minus the shake.
