The Norway Photos: Rykene

The majority of our time in Norway was spent at Sabrina and Kåre's house. They live outside a town called Rykene, in the countryside. Their house sits atop a hill overlooking the river. The hill was steep, but the views and the landscape were amazing. I spent a lot of time in the backyard watching the reflections in the river and the hours of sunset and twilight. For us, it was quite an adjustment to live with sunlight from 4am to well past 10pm everyday. We were very much night owls during our stay – seeing all of the sunsets and sleeping in well past sunrise. This little place in the world won me over very quickly. Even though I imagine it will be years before we might return, I'm already looking forward to visiting again.
