Exhausted.

Things I learned this weekend...

1. Gryffin managed to get kennel cough from his 4 days at the kennel (despite the shot he got in advance to ward it off). So now, we have the joy of medicating our minorly sick doggie. The best part? Gryffin has a freak reaction to his medication. He won't eat the pills whole, or in his dog food, or crushed with peanut butter, or crushed in peanut butter in his dog food (seriously, I tried it all). That means we're shoving it down his throat – so much fun. His reaction is to foam at the mouth and start shaking his head. The result is minutes of flying spit – in my house. In all my years around dogs that is totally a new one. Grrross.

2. Addison isn't crawling in a forward motion yet, but seems to magically move across the floor when nobody is looking. Today she launched herself off of the couch (no serious harm done) and later I caught her staring longingly at an outlet. The girl has serious goals in life (a death wish) and we're now behind in baby proofing.

3. Last week Addison hated pasta. Today she started shoveling it into her mouth, favoring it over her baby food. I'm confused.

4. I am good at playing charades, but I loathe charades. I played because an entire room of people wanted to play. In that situation you kinda have to go with it. I've found that my true skill is getting the oddities that nobody else would even think of. Example, I got "Ukulele" and the other team fell off the couch with their jaws hanging open. Even so, I'll be okay not playing again for a long while.

5. Wii Tetris is messed up. Us children of the 80's can play Tetris with no problem, or at least I thought. The Wii version has all sorts of new twists to the game, making me feel sad about my once great video game skills.

6. Kyle makes me laugh when it comes to hanging things on the wall. I take the time and effort to get everything ready, whether it is painting, purchasing or arranging and Kyle hangs. That's how things go. However, after this weekend it's official... Kyle must always put 1 extra hole in the wall. No amount of measuring, eyeballing and my help ever makes it go off without a hitch. It's become a bit of a joke between us because it's happened so many times. I could do it by myself next time, but I then I wouldn't get to see his optimism crushed when it goes wrong. :)
