We hopped a plane to Texas last week for a little Simmons family vacation. We managed to have a pretty good time despite the unrelenting heat and humidity. While in San Antonio, we visited the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The majority of our trip revolved around a much-hyped water park called
Schlitterbahn. And I happily got to visit Austin for the first time. Here's a few pictures captured with my phone.

It's not vacation unless there's a pool.

It was stupid hot, so we swam a lot.

Addison rocking her favorite dress. She tried to wear it every day.

Doing the tourist thing at the Alamo. Again, it was hot.

Lunch on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
Tex Mex on every corner is a wonderful thing.

My summer freckles arrived after two days in the sun.

Lance, Kyle and I giggled all the way through Kyle, TX (on our way to Austin).

Our yummiest meal of the trip –
Hula Hut in Austin. Go there.
Everything we ate was amazing. Even the stuffed, avocado above.

We walked the University of Texas campus. I soaked in oodles
of Longhorn orange and contemplated how our lives might be
different if Kyle had been accepted to UT Austin.

Top it all off with a big Texas sunset over the lake.
