The Plant That Chose Us

Back in mid-August we noticed a pretty substantial weed growing in our... um, yard. Side note: our yard is actually two small sections of bark and plants that surround our front patio. We're not even responsible for them, which is a really good thing. Anyway, by the time we got back from our 4-day Colorado trip, our weed had morphed into a big leafy plant that was several feet long. Thanks to the power of the internet, I found out the plant in question was going to produce pumpkins.

Aug. 8 – nothing

Sept. 5 – Gryffin's helping to provide scale

Oct. 3 – We removed the failing greenery and were left with 10 immature pumpkins. Neat.
